Hello!  I’m Val.  I grew up in a small town in Canada in a family where everyone had a camera – I got my first one in primary school.  Here are a few of my favourite things:

  • Paul – Mr. Val
  • Frank – our bright orange, 1983 air-cooled T25 VW campervan
  • FaceTiming with Canada – especially my Friday night FaceTime date with my Mum
  • Home
  • Any animal really
  • Eating sweets (especially sour ones)
  • Baking
  • Smiling
  • Recycling
  • Oreo cookies, Oreo ice cream, Oreo cheesecake etc. etc.
  • Going for walks
  • Camping
  • Afternoon tea
  • Sci-Fi – Star Trek rather than Star Wars for me though
  • Magnum P.I.

A few things about me

I have lived in England for 20 years now…My Mum grew up on the Wirral so I had a connection to the area and was able to work here.

A few things about me

I have a special fondness for Cumbria – not only did I live there for a few years but we got married in the smallest church in England – St. Olaf’s, Wasdale.

A few things about me

I am definitely not “cool” but I went to Glastonbury once.

A few things about me

I ran a marathon once – as well as lots of half marathons and 10km races before my knees told me to stop running.  I still miss it!

A few things about me

I played trombone in the high school band.

A few things about me

Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata is my desert island disk.  Snowpatrol’s Chasing Cars is a close second.
